The Paella Cup is the perfect combination of sport, culture and city. Our standard programme includes:
*organisation of the tournament (all matches, referees and international rival teams)
*transfers to and from the airport and the city centre
*social and cultural activities (Friday night BBQ and of course…Paella)
The hockey facilities
Matches will be played on two astroturf pitches. Both pitches are within walking distance of each other and only a short, five-minute tram ride to the Malvarrosa beach. The hockey complex is one of the best in the area and offers additional services such as a gymnasium, football fields, restaurant and padel courts.
Social and cultural activities
The tournament includes a Friday night BBQ at the hockey club with good food, friends and dancing; a picnic lunch on Saturday and a paella lunch after the awards ceremony on Sunday. You can also add on activities such as:
* a three-hour bike tour through the gardens of the river Turia, la Ciudad de Artes y Ciencias and the bustling old town,
* organised visits to the colourful Mercado Central or one of the many city museums,
* a tapas tour complete with refreshing Sangria or Cerveza,
* dinner reservations at some of the best local spots,
* group tickets for football and basketball games.
During the tournament you will stay at a four-star hotel located next to the Cuidad de las Artes y las Ciencias, which marks the beginning of the river Turia. You’ll find the central areas of the city are easily within walking and cycling distance from the hotel and there’s a direct bus link to the hockey pitches as well as the beach.
Travel to Valencia
While we handle everything you need once you’ve landed – including transport to and from the airport or train station – purchasing your plane (to Manises Airport) or train (to Estació del Nord) tickets should be organised directly with the airline or railway company.
The 2019 edition of the Paella Cup will be held from Friday the 28th to Sunday the 30th of June.
